History of the platform

March 2023, ideological disagreement within the team almost led to the fork of the platform and the creation of a token, LLAMA. After a few days of uncertainty, the problem was finally resolved internally, and everything returned to normal, without any change to the initial operating model.

The site is also supported by external project developers. Continuously improving, the functionalities it offers are constantly evolving, and their list is growing all the time.

The list of proposed data

It’s difficult to make a complete list of the data available on DeFiLlama, so numerous are they. However, we can group them into different categories:

  • Market data This includes total value locked-in (TVL), transaction volume, protocol fees and revenues, number of users and transactions, incoming and outgoing capital… It is also possible to find out where tokens are used, or to show the distribution of protocol cash flow.
  • Technical data You can find out how many smart contracts have been deployed, which programming languages are used, which protocols are forks, which oracles the protocols use, which blockchains the applications are deployed on, which audits the platforms have passed…
  • Yield (passive revenues) DeFiLlama lists the various offerings on the market, with the option of classifying them by token, blockchain, pool type and position.

DEX aggregator aggregator

Released in January 2023, the « Meta DEX Aggregator »… was an immediate success. Renamed  » Llamaswap « recently, this tool compares data from decentralized exchange platform comparators to propose the best possible swap options.

It currently supports 23 blockchain and is 100% free.

Simply choose a blockchain (1) and the tokens you want to trade (2), and all the platforms for doing so will appear, sorted by price (3). Once you’ve decided on the offer you want to use, you can validate the transaction using your wallet (type Metamask)

The loan aggregator

Like Llamaswap, the borrowing protocol aggregator compares offers available on all market platforms.
