As our advice is as up to date as possible, the platform now has a prominent place in your DeFi toolbox, and it would be a shame not to mention it.

Arkham Intelligence overview

History of Arkham Intelligence

Arkham Intelligence was founded in 2020 by Miguel Morel, an American with a passion for blockchains who had already been working the cryptocurrency world since 2016.

The project quickly attracted large investors. They include Sam Altlman (co-founder of OpenAI), Joe Lonsdale (co-founder of Palantir), Geoff Lewis (Bedrock), Tim Draper (Draper Associates) and Wintermute.

The company raised over US$12 million in one round of financing and is currently valued at over US$150 million.

The proposed services have been developed and tested in just a few years. Between August 2022 and May 2023, the platform was in beta phase, open to around 130,000 testers. In recent weeks, the application has finally been made available to the public. It plans to grow rapidly, with the aim of conquering 1 million users by the second quarter of 2024.

What does Arkham Intelligence have to offer?

On-chain analysis

Arkham Intelligence is for anyone who wants to explore blockchain for any purpose.including traders (private and professional), institutions, governments, investigators of all kinds…

All enthusiasts on-chain analysisfor those wishing to analyze transactions taking place on blockchains.

Unlike technical analysis, which can be applied to virtually any asset class, the analysis of on-chain transactions is unique to the world of cryptocurrencies. It is possible thanks to the public nature of blockchains. It can be carried out before or in parallel with other types of analysis. The movement of funds often preceding purchases and/or sales can be used to anticipate market sentiment and behavior, and therefore price movements.

The tool is currently deployed on 8 blockchains (Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Optimism, Arbitrum, Tron, and Bitcoin). Others are expected to be added soon, including Base, which has already been announced.

Arkham Intelligence works with proprietary technology called Ultra, based on artificial intelligence.

The Arkham Intel Exchange

The Arkham Intel Exchange is an additional service offered by the application. It is a platform for buying and selling blockchain-related information.

The platform works a bit like Ebay or Leboncoin. It is possible to consult existing offers and respond to them, or to create new ones. Prices can be fixed or based on an auction system.

Exchanges are made in ARKMthe platform’s token. All transactions are managed using smart contracts. The information exchanged remains private for 90 days before being made public by the platform and available to all.

The platform also publishes studies carried out by members of his team.

The ARKM token

The platform has its own token, the ARKM, which has several uses:

  • it is used to govern the Arkham Intel Exchange
  • used as exchange currency on the platform
  • it is distributed as a reward to attract new users (future airdrops of the token are expected)

With 1,000,000,000 tokens, the tokenomics is as follows, with blockages ranging from 1 to 7 years.

Further information

Our director, Gregory Guittardwas lucky enough a few months ago to be able to interview the CEO ofArkham IntelligenceMiguel Morel. Please feel free to view the video below, which will provide you with additional information to this article, with concrete examples of use.

As mentioned in the introduction, Arkham Intelligence has already caused quite a stir. Indeed, while this tool is a must-have for those wishing to carry out on-chain analyses, the possibilities it offers nevertheless remain quite worrying for those who wish to maintain a minimum of anonymity.

Because even those who do nothing illegal may wish to retain a modicum of privacy…

The future will tell how and by whom Arkham Intelligence will be used, but one thing is certain: those of you who learn to use it will be able to obtain some very interesting information, and will easily become aware of the traces they leave on the networks. They’ll be better able to cover their tracks if they so wish.
