Graphics

Accessible via the  » Chart If you select « Chart » in section (1), you’ll be able to display the charts linked to the data proposed in section (2).

Then select the blockchain you’re interested in (3). If you only have the free version, you can apply the « T1 » filter in (4) to see only the metrics to which you have access.

You can configure the graph displayed using the drop-down menus in (5).

Scrolling down the page, you’ll find a description of the selected metrics.

It’s also possible to be notified by email or Telegram if events you’re monitoring occur. To do so, click on « Create Alert » (6) and fill in the information requested in the window that opens (you can only create one alert with the free version).

Dashboards

On the  » Dashboard « (1) you’ll find several thematic dashboards designed by Glassnode, categorized in part (2).

They group together different metrics on the same page, to enable rapid analysis of the subject concerned.

If you only have the free version, you won’t see all the data (but you can guess the trends on the curves, as the graphs aren’t too blurred).

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can create your own dashboard by clicking on « Create Dashboard » (3).

After naming your dashboard, select the data to be displayed by clicking on « Add » (4). In addition to Glassnode metrics, you can also include Youtube videos. If you’re a content creator or work in a team, you can share the fruits of your labor with the button (5), which allows you to copy the dashboard URL.

The workbench

Accessible from the  » Workbench « (1), the workbench lets you create your own graphs and indicators.

As with the previous menus, the metrics proposed by Glassnode are located on the left-hand side of the screen (2). Once you’ve selected the ones you’re interested in, you can add formulas to create all possible indicators.

In the screenshot above, we’ve created a deliberately simple example, designed to show two indicators well known to traders: the Golden Cross and Death Cross on the bitcoin price.

We’ve shared this chart with button (3), so that you can by following this linkto better understand what follows.

When the 50-day moving average (green) crosses above the 200-day moving average (orange), it’s a Golden Cross (often indicating a future price rise (blue)). If it crosses below, it’s a Death Cross (often indicating a future fall in the share price).

To create it, we selected the bitcoin price from the Glassnode metrics using the « Add » button and then the « Metric » choice (4). We then applied a logarithmic scale in the parameters (5).

We then created the 50- and 200-day moving averages by clicking on « Add » and then « Formula » (6). The list of available formulas is displayed in (7) and the syntax to follow is shown by hovering your mouse over the desired formula (8).

Here, we’ve entered :

50-day moving average: sma(m1,50)

200-day moving average: sma(m1,200)

You can zoom in using the time scale below the graph.

If you wish, you can then incorporate your graphs into your dashboards.

For developers, it’s also possible to retrieve all Glassnode data via an API key, accessible via the HTTPS protocol, which returns data in JSON format.

As usual, we look forward to seeing you next week as we take a look at another DeFi tool. You can also consult the other articles on this series if you missed them, to discover for example Dune, Arkham Intelligence or Defillama.
